Words & Music in Sheffield

W&M2W&M picOne of my first nights out when I moved to Sheffield six months ago, was to a poetry evening at the Tamper coffee bar, as part of Sheffield’s “Off the Shelf” festival.

This was a great evening in a superb venue, and it got me thinking…..

Since there is so much music and literary talent in Sheffield,  would it not be a good idea to develop this as a regular monthly event?

The support I have had for this idea has been highly encouraging, so we are hitting the ground running with a launch event later this month.

The idea is to try to evoke the wonderfully evocative atmosphere of the London/New York coffee bar scene of the 1950s/60s. Please come along to our launch event on 16th April and help spread the word. We’ve got a great lineup of poets and musicians and tickets are dirt cheap.

Here is a link to a flier W&M2 – please help us spread the word by sending this to all your contacts and posting on website, social networks etc.

See you there!
